The newly appointed host adjusted his suit, still getting accustomed to being able to wear what he wanted around the workplace and still be paid. A client on each arm, he moved through the club, making them giggle and laugh. His gaze flickered over to where his friend with benefits worked, giving him a wave.
"Ladies, if you will excuse me," he all but purred to the women clinging to him. He made his way over to the bar area slowly.

Psyche yawned as he washed the bar with a wet rag. It had been a long night at the club and he was exhausted and a little bit agitated. He sipped on a random drink he mixed up, hoping the buzz it gave him would give him the edge he needed to get through his long shift.
He had only been working at the club for a few months now. Delic had been trying to teach him the ropes -- which is somewhat ironic due to the fact Delic is younger (but only by a few months) -- but Psyche couldn't seem to get a handle on it. After all, he had only just turned twenty.
His lack of experience for this sort of job made it very difficult for him. The customers would constantly berate him, demand he mixes the drinks better, flirt with him and try to grope him any time they could reach. He couldn't' stand that. Although he loved the atmosphere, being a mediocre bartender had it's downsides.

Delic dropped into one of the stools at the bar, "Hey Psy. How's the bar work going? I think the clients are getting better every week."
They had been for him. They seemed to get more flirtacious and entertaining with each passing day. Of course, he merely joined them in their merriment.

The sight of his best friend and crush was a blessing. Delic always made him smile even in the hardest working conditions.
"Maybe for you. I keep getting the drunks who want to get a piece of my ass, Psyche grumbled as he tossed his rag into the sink and went to lean on the counter. He smiled a little and looked up at Delic, yawning slightly, "At least it's been good for you."

Delic laughed, "You make it sound like we have such terrible customers. Are you about done with your shift? I'm having to have that one customer again and she's busying herself with others so if I happened to disappear for a few hours and come back..."
He was in the mood for another round with the brunet. He was tired of the giggling crap anyway. Half of what he said hadn't even been that funny.

Psyche perked up a little bit, smiling. "My shift doesn't end for another hour, but I haven't been able to take my break. A mischievous glint formed in Psyche's eyes. He knew what Delic wanted, and he was happy to oblige. "Let me just let the boss know I'm going on break, ok?"
He left before Delic could respond, hurrying over to his co-worker to explain that he was taking his two breaks now. Each one was about fifteen minutes, but he hadn't used either yet. Thank God, that meant he had a half hour to spend with Delic -- and maybe more if they lost track of time.
He hurried back around the bar, taking off his waiter's apron and hanging it on the rack before hurrying back to Delic's side.

Delic pulled the brunet over the counter, waving brightly to the others before he dashed for the door.
"If we make it down the street before my boss notices I vote we spend the rest of the night in bed."
His mind was afull of new positions and things he wanted to try.

Psyche giggled and dashed behind him, his hands locked tight with Delic's. "Delic! I can't get myself fired!" he whined half-heartedly. He didn't want to work anymore and was definitely looking forward to alone time with the one person he really wanted to be with.
They hurried out of the club and down the street, laughing the entire way. Psyche ignored the way people glanced at them as they fled from the club, still clad in their uniforms.

He grunted as Delic pushed him up against the wall. Their mouths moved against his each other, tongue wrestling and teeth clashing against each other. Instantly he was moaning and his knees were going weak. Every time they did this his symptoms of falling head of heels for the blond got worse. His hands scrambled to wrap around Delic's neck so he could hold himself up.
Delic's kisses made his mind foggy and by the time they had to break apart to breath, spots were dancing in front of his vision and his entire body was tingling from the feeling. "Va...vacation sounds..nice.... he panted as he smiled dazedly up at the blond.

Delic laughed, amused by how responsive Psyche always managed to get. Even though this was just a mutual run of the mill, sate the urge, fling; Psyche always made it seem like he was just a goner for him. It was arousing and kind of him to do.

What Delic lacked to understand was that Psyche truly was a goner when it came to him. He was completely smitten by his best friend and was easily falling head over heels for him. So he eagerly followed after him, excited to have another romp under the sheets with him.
His heart was racing and his body was thrumming with arousal and excitement. He couldn't wait to get back home. Although, he wouldn't complain doing it anywhere at this point.

Delic walked up their apartment stairs backwards, unbuttoning his shirt as he went. His gaze roamed seductively over the brunet before he shook his head.
"This is going to be the most fun we've had in a while, Psy. I hope you restocked on our supplies in the bedroom."

Psyche's heart skipped a beat as Delic pulled him along. His eyes quickly went over Delic's form. He bit his lip slightly; he still couldn't believe the some what lanky teenager he grew up with had turned into that.
"Everything's stocked up. I even invested in a new toy a while back," Psyche said with a slightly quivering voice. His entire body shook with the promise of a good night of fun.

Delic laughed hard, opening the door. He walked into the apartment, loosening his tie and laughing.
"Is it for use on you or me? Because it better be good if it's to be used on me."
He was teasing, even if it was something pathetic he would use it. Psyche had bought it with them in mind, it was only right.

"It's for either of us," Psyche said as he began to pull away his own tie and undress. He smirked as seductively as he could and made his way toward the bedroom.
"You can decide how we use it~" he purred as he waited for Delic to follow. He could hardly wait to get the night started.
However, they ended up not using any toys. They decided that just having each other was enough, so they tumbled and teased under the covers, enjoying their time together. Kissing, touching, rocking again each other to the beat of the music that was playing in the background. Everything was perfect.
Until Psyche made a detreimental mistake. Psyche got swept away in the moment and let his heart take control. His mind knew never to reveal his true feelings toward the blond, but his heart and body couldn't hold it back anymore.
"I only want you!" he cried as Delic continued to pleasure him, drowning Psyche in the love and adoration he felt for his best friend "Nn....o-only.....you..."

Delic was so far lost in that. Psyche only wanted him and he... No, he didn't pine after his best friend like that. He couldn't. Psyche his friend and he was one hell of a great lay, but... no no no. He didn't like Psyche like THAT. He was just filling an urge. That was all! AN URGE! IT WAS JUST A FLEETING EMOTION! He didn't feel his chest get a bit warmer when Psyche smiled at him, he didn't stay for the cuddling. If he really did like Psyche more than a friend, he would stay, right? He pulled away and averted. He couldn't like Psyche like that. It was all a lie. A clever ruse to sate his urges.
Delic shook his head, unable to fully explain. He couldn't lead the brunet on, he couldn't talk about how confused he was feeling now. He... just... He shook his head, "Psyche, I can't do this."

"What do you mean?" Psyche asked in confusion. Why was Delic suddenly acting so upset? He couldn't read Delic...he couldn't figure out what was wrong. Delic never acted or looked like this! Psyche couldn't read his emotions
"We do this all the time, what do you mean you can't?" Psyche asked again in a slight panic. Was he not feeling well? Did he hurt himself somehow? Psyche couldn't begin to imagine what was the matter.

"Psyche, I'm not going to continue if you think this will form a relationship like that." He couldn't let Psyche see his eyes, the doubt, the urge to say why not and try at a relationship of that sort with him. He wasn't going to do it, not when he felt like he could never be enough for him. Psyche deserved someone who knew they wanted to be with him all the time, someone who couldn't wait until the end of his shift to see and be with him, someone who would stay afterwards and bask in the chance they had to be with him. The pure luck that they had that Psyche liked them back. He couldn't take that away when he knew he didn't like Psyche like that.

It felt like a heavy weight fell on Psyche's chest; that a giant fist just punched him right in the stomach and knocked all the wind out of him; that he just fell into a nightmare that was too realistic.
"I...I don't...understand..." he stammered, his voice starting to crack. What did this mean? That they wouldnt' ever do this again? That they wouldn't live together? Did this mean Delic would change jobs and stop talking to him and...oh god what did he just do? Psyche was trembling and felt sick to his stomach.

Delic pulled back slowly, his hands going for his jacket and clothes. His fleeing instincts were kicking in now. He wasn't in love. If he loved Psyche, he would stay and hold him. He would be wrapping his arms around the other and telling him to forget anything he had said.
No, he was going to have to leave now.
He wouldn't be able to resist the brunet if he saw those tears.
"I'm going to stay at a hotel tonight... maybe tomorrow night too. I'll be back later. I'm sorry, Psy."
He wasn't sure how much later later was, but he was heading for the door before he could stop to look back. Just one foot after another, trying to keep his thoughts on leaving. He could think all he wanted later, with a drink, preferably something strong.

Psyche watched him silently, unable to speak as Delic swiftly moved toward the door. It felt like if Delic stepped through that door, he would never come back. He would lose him forever, and Psyche desperately clung to the idea that Delic wasn't leaving him.
He tried to beg him to stop, to stay, to not do this. He couldn't bear knowing that Delic didn't want to have anything to do with him. He managed to force out a chocked "Wait!", but he was too late. The door had already swung shut behind Delic and Psyche was left alone in the apartment with only his misery to comfort him.
The brunet sunk to his knees, his stomach rolling and his head spinning as he tried to grasp the rejected loneliness that began to eat away at him. He gasped for air, as if he was a fish out of water. He couldn't breathe. He couldn't see. His entire world was shifting around him and he felt like he was going to collapse from the pressure. Tears overflowed as he curled into a ball, his forehead touching his knees as he wrapped his arms around his stomach in an attempt to get a grip on himself and to soothe his damaged heart. But nothing could make the cold emptiness of the apartment go away; nothing could make the hurt fade.

He was in the elevator when he finally dropped to the floor. Feelings, actually feelings of attachment for his long time friend. It was absurd. Psyche was cute, he would give that much. Psyche and him had a lot in common, they were always buddy buddy about everything, but anything more than that was overboard.
He didn't do love. It wasn't his type of thing.
His head was pounding as much as his heart as the light in the elevator flickered to the lobby light. He rose onto his feet and kept going. That was how it always was with relationships that went too far. Even with family, he always ended up on his knees, wondering why. No, he wasn't going to run back to Psyche and comfort him.
He was his own person, the romance they shared was one of just the most basic of nature.
He was fine on his own. He didn't need anyone.

On the other hand, Psyche desperately needed someone. He didn't have a sense of self to grow from like Delic had. He didn't know who he was, or why he was alive, or what to do with himself. He relied on others to define who he was. His mother called him a bundle of joy. Izaya had called him a nuisance and a pest. Delic had called him a best friend and...
He moaned with despair. No, Delic didn't consider him as a love interest. The fantasy Psyche had created and clung to for happiness had shattered and left him wounded. He and Delic would never be anything more than friends. But what good are friends when they leave you broken on the floor?
Psyche lived on the acceptance of others. He couldn't survive on his own. Delic was gone and he wasn't sure if he'd even make it through the night. He was in misery and wanted nothing more than the pain to go away.

Delic was drunk before he reached the club, having bought himself alcohol on the way over. He didn't care anymore. His mind was numbing, all thoughts of going to Psyche gone as he walked in and wrapped his arms around some usuals.
He wouldn't care anymore, there was only drinks to see poured. The amber fluid pouring from the bottles behind the counter, the erotic dancing going on down on the floor, hands sneaking to places unknown. There was nothing left but innuendos now. He was done with everything else.
He didn't deserve such a pristine person as Psyche.
This was where he belonged. Right here among people of his kind. The queens of sensuality, the tainted fools of the nightlife. nothing but manipulators, liars, less than savory people. They were almost as bad as him. They had never broken someone important to them. They had never without meaning to led someone along only to crush them.
He was a monster.
